「 どくろ峠の戦い 」 をゲットするには？

このグレイトなゲームボードを見てくれ！　これはスタートセット「どくろ峠の戦い」のリリースにあわせて作られた、どくろ峠のゲームボードだ。ゲームズワークショップ・スタジオ・ホビーチームは、これまで数々の素晴らしい情景モデルとゲームボードを生み出してきたが、今回のゲームボードももちろん、その中の１つに数えられるくらい見事な出来ばえである。ここから数ページで、このサイコーなゲームテーブルがいったいどうやって作られたのか、ステップごとに見てゆくことにしよう！

まず、ホビーチームは土台となる板の上に何段もスタイロフォームを重ね、全体のレイアウトを固めていった。それから、何段もあるスタイロフォームを等高線にあわせてカットしていき、最後はすべてを板に接着した。

峠道を作るために薄い断熱材を用意し、むきだしになったスタイロフォームの上から道の形に貼っていった。続いて、レンガのしきつめられた道を再現するため、先が丸まったえんぴつを使って、断熱材にミゾを入れた。それから、小さな木材のチップを道の両脇に接着していった。さらにホビーチームは、この道が荒らされていることを再現するために、ところどころをえぐったり、サンドやガレキを置いたりしている。さて、お次は道と川が交差している部分だ。まずは、今までどおり道を延ばす要領で、断熱材を川の上に貼っていく。それから、川とかぶっている部分の断熱材をカットだ。それから、断熱材で作った道の端をなめらかにカットして、川べりをうまく再現している。最後に、道と川が交差する部分を埋めるために、目止め剤、サンド、小石などを使ってあるぞ。

情景がひとおおり完成し、サンドをボード全体に接着したら、全体をラテックス入りの黒い塗料でアンダーコートした（アンダーコートスプレーは、スタイロフォームを溶かしてしまうので使えない）。

ゲームボードの基本的な部分が完成し、アンダーコートまで終わった、次はペイントだ。ホビーチームでは、まず暗めのブラウンから明るめのブラウンで、地面の部分をペイントしていった。ガレキや岩の部分は、暗めのグレイでペイントしてある。
